"Jam Session was one of the greatest experiences of my life. Because of Kurt and Steve and all the wonderful teachers of Jam Session, I was able to fulfill my lifelong dream of performing in a rock band.

Their patience taught this old dog a few new tricks... and made my Fender guitar one of my best friends."

"I have been with Jam Session for a year, and my son is now a guitarist as well as a piano player. My daughter is excelling at the drums and is composing with her new teacher Dorian Wallace, who we are so lucky to have as he is getting a Masters in Composition.

Kurt Reed, Dorian Wallace, and Mark Gonder offer my kids great instruction with apparent sensitivity to the age and habits of teenage musicians. The instructors are demanding, but reasonable and offer fantastic, enthusiastic lessons my kids actually enjoy.

I feel very lucky that I decided to walk into Jam Session. I have sent many families there for everything from classical piano to rock guitar groups. I feel that Jam Session has bridged the gap between my Classical background and my kids' interest in more modern musical expressions—for that I am very grateful."

"Jam Session was a very positive experience for us and our teenage son. We were looking for a place to provide him with guitar lessons. Jam Session provided us with a flexible schedule, rewarding learning experiences and instructors that were very personable and related to our son well. They really want to see your child succeed and enjoy music."

- The Faluoticos

"The best school I've seen. they work WITH you, and they don't just teach from a book like so many others do. They keep your lessons flexible enough so you can both learn and enjoy your instrument. This changed me from a person who just plays guitar to guitarist."

"Jam Session has given me an opportunity to play in a band and develop confidence. With their help, I do play with a group of friends. The teachers here have gone out of their way in writing chords for my songs that were not easily available. I plan to continue to study here even though I come from almost 20 miles away. I am 57 years old and I would encourage older people to take classes here to learn an instrument or develop their musical talents."

"I’m an adult who played as a teen and then laid my guitar down for years as I raised my family. I came to Kurt wanting to get to another level of playing and to understand music better. I had taken trial lessons with several other teachers in the area, but I found that Kurt’s approach to be what I was looking for. Other teachers that I tried seemed more concerned with impressing me with what they wrote, knew and how well they could play, Kurt was more interested in what I wanted to accomplish.

Kurt and I worked on Theory, Technique, Note and Tab reading, Songs, Improvising and Performing. Kurt even got me to develop the courage to perform at recitals and we did some Open–mic nights together. Kurt’s style is very positive, nurturing and patient. His enthusiasm for teaching is very apparent by how he interacts with all his students and all the students at Jam Session. I found Kurt’s approach to teaching to be excellent, and he exceeded my expectations.

I observed that as a whole, all the instructors at Jam Session provided the same level of enthusiasm as Kurt, with the same positive encouragement. This group of teachers does a tremendous job with teens and the Band Showcase program. Performing really brings out the best in you and it's fun!"
