Jam Session Policies and Procedures

Services Offered:

Jam Session Music School offers weekly and bi-weekly private lessons and coached band sessions. Students may also rent Jam Session’s rehearsal space for a nominal fee. Bands performing in the band showcases must pay a participation fee. Recitals are always free to the students.

Billing:

Monthly tuition is due at the student’s first lesson of the month. Tuition will depend upon the number of lessons and/or band sessions and rehearsals that the student is expecting to have in that month.

If a student becomes more than one week delinquent in payment of his or her tuition, Jam Session Music School reserves the right to refuse service if deemed appropriate by the management.

Cancellation Policies:

If the student must cancel a lesson, he or she must contact the school by phone no later than 1:00 PM on the day of the lesson, or he or she will forfeit that lesson and will not be eligible for a make up lesson. If the lesson is on a Saturday, the school must be notified by 9:00 AM.

Each student will be allowed two “emergency cancellations” per year for lessons. If a student has to cancel due to an unexpected circumstance, he or she will still be eligible for a make up lesson, as long as the office is properly notified.

If the student wishes to discontinue lessons, Jam Session must be given at least two weeks advance notice of the final lesson.

If a teacher must cancel a lesson, the student will be given as much advance notification as possible and will not be charged for that lesson. Jam Session does not bring in substitute teachers.

If the city of Kent closes its schools due to bad weather, Jam Session will also be closed on that day. In the event of a winter storm warning issued by the National Weather Service, students may choose to cancel their lesson at any time during that day and schedule a make up lesson.

Band sessions can be rescheduled or canceled, but cannot be refunded.
